Jackie is a 20-year old girl who was born with multiple birth issues. She was missing parts along her body midline interiorly and externally. She was born with no nose and no nasopharynx. Her teeth also reflected the problem in that #9 was missing, 10 thru 15 were sunk in and moved to be in contact with #8 so 10 was where 9 should be. Jackie had ortho but they could not expand the palate because of a defective hard palate.

Jackie has had over 20 surgeries to correct other physical issues. Her Mom said that many of her procedures were out of pocket but if Jackie wanted this they would find a way to afford the treatment. I emailed Jackie’s picture to Becky and told her the story and that we had decided to do this case at no charge. She immediately agreed to do the lab work at no cost even though they had just done a charity case and were not doing another until September.

This case has had a huge impact on me personally as the story has touched so many peoples lives. Vickie at Becden did the wax on her own time at home. My team and office personal were very touched (tears) and one employee told me she was proud to work for our office because of what was done. Also many of my friends and family members and friends of Jackie’s family were also greatly moved by this act of kindness.

I can truly say that I have received much more by giving than Jackie has received by getting new teeth.
