Sometimes the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason.

Together Dr. Berger and Becden changed the life of this previously insecure young man. Dr. Berger’s Sonora Smiles Team (Dr. Dave, Jo, Keisi, Lisa, Michele and Paula) donated the dentistry and Becden donated the laboratory work.
When Brett first came into their office “he would not smile, not even a little one.” At the age of ten when he was away at camp he fell off of his bunk bed, lost his front tooth, fractured his jaw and bit off half of his tongue. His mom took him to the hospital and to two different dentists, and due to his young age none of the doctors felt confident in performing surgery to reconstruct his jaw. Since then he never felt confident, not until now!

In his note to the technicians at Becden the patient, Brett, said, “Thank you so much for participating in making my dental make-over possible. I would never have been able to afford this on my own. I have had years of dental problems and infected areas in my mouth, but now I can smile and my mouth does not hurt. I have become a firefighter and you had a part in achieving my goal.”
Becden is currently accepting applications for a Charity Smile Makeover to be fabricated this spring. If you have a patient you are willing to donate your time and services, we will donate the laboratory services. Please email photos and the patient’s story to Becky at becky@becdendental.com.
