The holiday season is a special time of year for our team members at Becden and an opportunity to give back to those less fortunate. The last several years our gift to Dennis and Becky has been a donation to charities that give shoes to children in need. This is personal to Becky and Dennis, because of situations during Dennis’s childhood that not only prevented him from having new shoes but at times had no shoes at all. Several years ago we have met a woman locally who is the “Shoe Fairy” and have donated to her. It has been a very rewarding experience for all of us. This year we decided to take it one step further. As readers of our newsletter you probably have seen highlights of the gifted artists that work for us. One of these talented artists is John Diepeveen who does bronze sculptures. We approached John last November 2004 and ask him to do a bronze sculpture that depicts a child who is less than fortunate, as part of our Holiday gift to Beck and Dennis. John created “The Gift” which as you can see from the picture needs no explanation. Our dream of giving shoes to as many children began to grow even bigger. We decided that we would offer this statue to Dennis and Becky’s friends and clients and a portion of the cost of the statue would be donated to the “Shoe Fairy”. We were proud to be able to donate an additional $5,000.00 to charity along with our employee donations. Thank you again to all of our clients who so generously purchased a statue.
If you would like more information or are interested in purchasing one of the limited addition bronze statues (only a few remain) please contact Monica at Becden 1-888-344-9991 or email at monica@becdendental.com.
